The VMG8924-B10A supports Vectoring which is a technology that works by eliminating cross-talk, or the interference between different VDSL lines. With the above mechanism, Vectoring can significantly increase the bit rate to be able to compete with Cable/Fibre technology ,and also enlarge the service reach without changing current infrastructure which is a large cost saving versus Fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) deployment. When a customer migrates from ADSL2+ or VDSL2 to PON or LTE, service providers don't have to invest in new CPEs and change them at customer sites. All they need to do is keep using the VMG8924-B10A by unplugging the DSL line and plugging the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet WAN port. The customer’s existing CPE VMG8924-B10A will still be used for terminating the IP-connection but now via the Ethernet WAN-interface. The end-users can still get the full experience, in most cases, from the original CPE which is more convenient than having the customer have to change their current CPE due to the difference in physical connection.
